Zhang Tai Yan's National Ideas largely contain tribal color based on blood relative. He grew up at a family and an area which is full of resistance consciousness about the Qing dynasty, Manchurian. His national ideas, focused on the Chinese, of anti-Manchurian were noticed to be handed down despite at a situation that the Qing dynasty ruled oppressively in the days of growing. In addition, detailed acknowledgement of activities of regional people who resisted Qing dynasty through reading books has brought revolutionary ideas of anti-Manchurian at an early age.
Region (or regionalism) affected not only forming of the ideas but also his stand and behavior in the course of engaging in politics thereafter. He started to think of his hometown as himself, and made it as foundation of constructing new China. In the beginning he simply started with aim to avenge hometown people. He further advocated to follow the example of the regional people's anti-Manchurian spirit, inspired revolutionary emotion, and rallied revolution supporters for development of hometown and revolution of China. He began his first political activities centering on his home area. It is said that he absorbed nutrition of practicing revolution in this regional background.
In the beginning course of practicing revolution, he spreaded out activities of academic society, social group, and political organization based on regional positiveness (for example, increase in cohesion in respect of the same village). However, he sometimes revealed critical point such as development to low-graded political issue by losing reasonable awareness of the region and relying on emotional respects. Such problem was not confined to him only, and other political leaders in China in early 20th century have something in common in some degree.
Accordingly, if we acknowledge logical consistency though his opinion containing a slogan, it will be more reasonable to say that such emotional appeal or reliance to the region was adopted as a means of imminent need in the course of practicing revolution and realistic consideration.
In conclusion, this region has connection with not only forming revolutionary ideas but also practicing revolution. Additionally,development from sensitive to reasonable awareness of the region means pursue of self-awareness of Zhang Tai Yan as well as modern China nationalism which is inclined to a large aggregation from a small aggregation.
