When the World War Ⅱ was over, Japanese society was looking for the vision through the "flesh". It was what symbolizes free Japan and democratic Japan that the statement about "flesh" appears again.
But Fumiko Hayashi draw and show the body which dares decline through "Bangiku". Kin and Tanabe's love was materialized during wartime. Love of Kin and Tanabe has also finished at the same time war ends. And two persons take age mutually and feel no charm. Then, Kin regards love with Tanabe in wartime as nostalgic.
After the war the Japanese society had dreamed of starting which is new with the reappearance of the "flesh". However, Fumiko Hayashi drew the body which dares decline through "Bangiku". The problem in wartime was solved simply and she has told that conversion of a "principle" cannot be performed easily.
