Fatalism is an idea discussing on social situations and fatal. Han-Yu(韓愈) lived in the time of ZhongTang when Tangchao(唐朝) began to fall into a decline after Anshizhiluan in 755. At that time intellectuals tried to revive the empire through Confucian ideology. Therefore fatalism appeared an important controversy again. Fatalism was developed as the thoughts of the opposition between Tianminglun giving Heaven(God) independent will and complete power ,and Ziranlun defining Heaven(God) as a physical existence. However, Han-Yu's(韓愈) fatalism is based on the idea of Tianminglun giving Heaven(God) entire powers and abilities. Traditional fatalism looked down on human willpower for respecting sacred powers of Heaven(God) on the other hand, Han-Yu's(韓愈) fatalism set a high value on men's independent will and abilities. Han-Yu(韓愈) thought Heaven(God) controls human's fata, though he had an idea of Ziranlun about Heaven(God). His thought was revealed completely through arguing with LiuZongYuan(柳宗元). This conflict of Han-Yu's(韓愈) thought was because Han-Yu(韓愈) got more influence of his own experience about social status and fate of Hanshi(寒士) class, not a view about differences between human and Heaven(God) as a scholar. At the same background, the theory of 'Bupingzeming(不平則鳴)' appeared as an literary theory is similar to fatalism of Han-Yu(韓愈). A sense of fate from fatalism influenced Han-Yu(韓愈) poetical style that represents the resignation to fate, expresses attachment and grief to fate and generally show us tragic image.
