Sino-Korean words are of two types, the one based on Old Chinese grammar and the other based on Present-day Korean word formation. Standard Korean Language Dictionary (1999/2008) has 486 standard words ending in Chinese character gi (氣), among which 411 words have gi as an immediate constituent.
Korea University"s Korean Dictionary (2009/2012) has 370 headwords out of the 411 words. It shows their word structure in the way they are composed of morphemes. 296 words are formed by Old Chinese grammar, and 74 words Present-day Korean word formation, which includes word+suffix (52 words), word+word (11 words), word+root (1 words), root+word (3 words), root+suffix (3 words), prefix+word (3 words), prefix+suffix type (1 words).
Our elaborative investigation into the 411 words ending in gi as an immediate constituent results in that 317 words are formed by Old Chinese grammar, and 93 words by Present-day Korean word formation, which includes word+suffix (73 words), word+word (3 words), root+word (3 words), root+suffix (13 words), prefix+word type (1 words).
