《Literature Teacher》, which is one of the collected 19 fictionalized biographies of famous writers, musicians. and painter in 《Eternal Companions》, written by Yuri Nagibin, contains clear characterization of Ivan Bunin. Nagibin add s biographical information about Bunin into his fiction in order to show the internal world of Bunin, namely literary world of Bunin. In order to make clear view of it, Nagibin intentionally twisted some biographical information.
This study focuses on the survey Nagibin's poetics of the characterization of Bunin and on the analysis of Bunin's literary world reflected in this fictionalized biography. This study finds that Nagibin pays little attention to portray the external character of Bunin. but tries to show off the internal world. that is. literary world of Bunin. So the author sets the time of the biography in a day. when middle school student Bunin is invited by his literary teacher who is a completely fictional character by Nagibin. The teacher wants comments on his somewhat 'tendency' writing about a poor farmer.
So the literary world of Bunin is mainly exposed by the dialogue between Bunin and the teacher. Barsanof'ev. Nagibin also uses many episodes to show Bunin's unbelievable talent of observation. This episode is to be used as tool of making the logic of narration which makes the changing attitude of the teacher to the student's comments convincing.
This study finds that Nagibin shows the contradict literary world of the teacher and Bunin. thus makes the reader to have the clear picture literary world of young Bunin which has a firm base on his amazing power of observation and delicate use of words. and that the author hints the impossibility of the union of the two different literary world using the hint of the last episode of the teachers's calling of Bunin's name.
