This research’s purposes are to analyze the difference of the audience’s preference among the different Taekwondo demonstration according to the peculatity of population statistics and to find out the influence of the artistic composition on the audience’s preference.
The subjects of the study were 317 people who saw Taekwondo show in the J-Times president’s cup competition.
The questionnaire consisted of 27 items and was recomposed on the basis of the questionnaire which was used in the studies of Inyong Kim(2004) and Taesang Kim(2005). In order to analyze data, frequency analysis, independent set-t was used.
The results are as follows :
First, audience prefered Taekwon dance and sparring among exhibition events and there appeared significant differences in terms of the audience’s preference among the different Taekwondo demonstration.
In the preference according to the sexual distinction, the male prefered technique breaking most and the female prefered Taekwon dance most. There appeared significant differences in terms of Taekwon dance.
In the preference according to the age, the people who are 10 to 19 years old prefered technique breaking most and the people who are over 20 years old prefered Taekwon dance most. There appeared significant differences in terms of basic movement, self-defence and Taekwon dance.
In the preference according to the position, There appeared significant differences in terms of basic movement, power breaking, poomsae, pre-arranged sparring, self-defence and Taekwon dance.
In the preference according to the educational background, There appeared significant differences in terms of poomsae, pre-arranged sparring, technique breaking and Taekwon dance.
Second, the group which don't have experience in viewing Taekwondo demonstration and the group which have experiences of 3 times and 4 times prefered technique breaking most and the group which have experience of once and twice and the group which have experiences of over 5 times prefered Taekwon dance most.
Third, the artistic composition in the Taekwondo demonstration influenced significantly on the audience's preference.
