This paper is aim to analysis the Lee hyo-suk’s, You jin-o’s, Chae man-slk’s, and Um heung-sub’s intellectual fictions. This paper compares an aspect of the intellectual’s belif and the novelist’s strategy for the justification of this change in a novelist’s fictions with another’s. The contents of this dissertation can be summarized as the followings.
The first, 4 novelists recognize the outside world as the world divided duality. You and Chae explain the opposition as the specialization of the upper-caste and the lower-caste, Um and Lee explain as the specialization of the intellectual’s Utopia and the outside world.
The second, You, Cha’s goal is the rise in the social position, Un’s is the construction of the Utopia. Lee’s changes from the rise in the social position to the construction of the Utopia.
The third, You understands the intellectual as the floating being, and the intellectual is the subject for this goal. Um express the intellectual as the absolute being acting practically for this goal. Chae understands the intellectual as the floating being, but the intellectuals in his fictions are the compensation in substitutes of the observation. The same thing about Lee.
The forth, You, Chae indicate ‘the concealment-exposure strategy’ and the dismantling of the strategy for the achievement of his individual; desires. Um run out of the construction of the Utopia distorted and limited. Lee copy ‘the concealment-exposure strategy’ and dismantle the strategy, accomplish his desires. After, he make the escapism space for the Utopia.
The fifth, You, Um provide the knowledge as the intellectual’s critical will. Um put trust the knowledge and serve for this. Chae recognize the knowledge as the instrument for his desires. Lee understand the knowledge as the critical will, abolish this, After, he attendance for the knowledge.
