In the previous research, the concept of 「KA」 was explained as having the same meaning with 「Naturalization」 or it was studied in relation with the confrontation and discrimination against the different people living in Japan.
However, this study found that the concept of "Ka" in Ancient Japan has also the following meanings:
1. 「The people in Japan who became like japanese」 (Naturalization).
2. or a totally separate meaning of 「becoming people of an emperor」. In Ancient Japan, 「The People Of A King」(The People of An Emperor) were defined in contrast with the general public, and it had something related with the internal power structure, something beyond the issue of the different people. In other words, 「Ka」 not only referred to the process of absorbing those outside the emperor's world and its order into the internal structure. justifying the existence of emperor but also it played a role as an ideology that can explain what the phrase of becoming "the people of an emperor" implies.
