The scholarship of Korean language and literature has been the core area of modern scholarship field. Along the currents of focusing on interdisciplinary study. the Korean studies arrived at the point to take a pilot role for the humanistic studies in general.
In the traditional thought of Korean scholarship philosophy, history, linguistics and literature- in the broad sense- they have been the main area of humanistic science or humanities.
Beneath the age of modernization of Korea, Korean humanistic science became ideology centered and the function of broad speculation or insight for the human nature narrowed closely. So many kinds of interactions between the areas of humanistic science are evaded widely that Korean studies may work as the mainstream leader of the humanistic scholarship.
In the area of Korean language and literature with the method the two field must work together in the method of interdisciplinary. And they can establish the new subjects as meta-science: theory of Korean language culture, thought of Korean language, Korean stylistics, emotions of Korean language etc.
In the developing process of Korean studies, the scholars must establish the productivity of Korean language and literature: that they must involve the media technology and the interpretation for the productivity of Korean language in their endeavor for their academic activity.
For the future perspective, I proposed some points, it's field, method, practical productivity, data-base and others.
