In the information and knowledge-base society individual, regional, and national competition is depending on how to build a variety of regional information system, to make networks and then to utilize it.
The aim of this study in which made an attempt under the awareness is drawing up the efficient devices for building and managing the system.
As for it, we investigate its implication, successful essence, present condition and better alternatives. Main direction for successful maintenance and development of regional information system which is suggested in this study as follows:
First, harmonization between central and local government.
Second, continuous concern and support of central government.
Third, the explicit division of role between the central and local government.
Fourth, spontaneous participations of residents.
Fifth, being designed to solve existing problems in local area.
Sixth, building based on the consumers. Seventh, utilization of existent system as possible.
