The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship bet ween church school revival ant the development of new educational methods.
In order to develop an understanding of educational context, this paper attempts to compare the revival movement of the early Korean church and the communal life of the primitive church in the New Testament. This approach is to examine the transformation of Peter's life and his message from the book of Acts 2:38.
Revival movement of the early Korean church that originate d from R. A. Hardie's repentance in 1930, transferred into a series of great revival movements that took place in Pyengyang in 1907.
These revivals focused on the belief of entering the kingdom of God through true repentance.
During the revivals, the Korean church members underent a sequence of experiences: repentance, rebirth and sanctification, which were similar experiences to the ones that the members of the primitive church in Jerusalem had experienced.
The spiritual rebirth of a person had become a foundation of church revival.
The four educational methods shown in Peter's messages: repentance, baptism, confession of sin and experience of the Holy Spirit, provides new approaches to solve the revival movement in the church school. In essence to the educational methods, repentance means spiritual awakening, baptism refers to the becoming of God's child, confession of sins leads to the healing of one's inner life, and the experience of Holy Spirit brings empowerment to one's life.
Applying Peter's educational methods will revive the church school; furthermore, it will bring positive changes and hopes to the future society.
