In order to define the relationships among participation in yoga activities, flow experience and life satisfaction, this study analyzed: first, the relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and life satisfaction; second, the relationship between whether to participate in yoga activities and life satisfaction; third, the relationship between the degree of participation in yoga activities and flow experience; fourth, the degree of participation in yoga activities and life satisfaction; and fifth, the causal relationship among the degree of participation in yoga activities, flow experience and life satisfaction.
The subjects of this study were 209 participants in yoga activities and 203 non-participants who resided and worked in Bucheon City, so a total 412 people who were selected through random cluster sampling.
Collected data were analyzed through independent T-test, one-way ANOVA, covariate analysis, multiple regression analysis and path analysis using SPSS WIN.
From results obtained through the research methods and data were drawn conclusions as follows.
First, life satisfaction was different according to socio-demographic characteristics. Second, whether to participate in yoga activities affected life satisfaction. That is, life satisfaction was higher in participants in yoga activities that in non-participants.
Third, the degree of participation in yoga activities affected life satisfaction. That is, those who participated in yoga activities longer had higher life satisfaction.
