The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of dance activity on the development of sociality in high school girls majoring in dance. By using stratified cluster random sampling, 648 girls were sampled as subjects from 12 Art High Schools. Questionnaire data were obtained from all subjects by self-administration method, and 599(92.44%) out of 648 cases were used as valid samples.
The results were as follows:
1. Activity in dance for the long period results in the development of sociality toward a positive direction.
2. Frequency of dance activity had a positive effects increase of level of self-regulation, law-abiding and sacrifice.
3. Intensity of dance activity had a positive effect on Cooperation. However, number of public performance had a negative effect on Cooperation.
4. Frequency of performance viewing had a positive effect on law-abiding. Taken together, Not only levels of period, frequency, intensity, but also type of dance, performance participation of Dance may effect on development-level of sociality. Level of Cooperation, law-abiding, self-regulation, sacrifice depend on level of dance activity, and the results imply that level of dance activity has important role to sociality-construction.
