The blind spot of the discussion on the narrative concerning Korean and Japanese relation is that people focus on spreading it simply. Therefore, the strange discussion on this subject has been produced in that the Korean people brought up the possibility that the narrative was transmitted to Japan from Korea directly while the Japanese people rose the possibility that the narrative was transmitted to Japan from China, not Korea. The story that Gen. Gang, Gam-chan and Gen. Abe Seimei's maternal sides were set up as the fox belongs to this case.
The existence of two generals draws an interest in the narrative pointhanded been down to the pubic rather than the contents written in the historical records, It might be very interesting that the narrative contains the varied Taoist contents appeared in their birth and growth. In particular, it is presumed to exist cultural common aspects between two generals, whose mother sides are the fox.
Two generals are the historical persons in the tenth century living in countries adjacent to China If China was set up as the center of two countries, they might have Chinese cultural influence. In this point, the possibility that the route to spread Chinese culture was from Korea to Japan can be highly brought up. Consequently, this article is focused on the matters on which its presumption is really proper as expected.
Taoismwas flourished in the tenth century during the Goryo Dynasty(918~1392) and it was flourished in Japan too. With this periodic background, the story that Gen. Gang Gam-chan and Gen. Abe Seimei's maternal sides were the fox was made up by the public.
Nowadays, in Korean folkloric culture, the taoist property can be hardly found. The Taoist influence can not be outwardly found in Korean culture. This is because Buddhism and Confucianism were taken up as the center of Korean culture according to the change of dynasties. With this point, the Japanese people insisted that they accept the Taoist culture from China However, before and after this period, it can be improved that the Chinese culture was spread to Japan via the Korean Peninsular.
