This treatise is the approach to the culture of other tribe and the overview of the interests that I have in North American natives, who have not been much introduced and studied yet. Interested in the traditional culture of North American natives, you can find out that it has much similarity to the Korean shamanic culture or the Korean living culture and that it has much similarity to Korean's also in the melody structure of their music. I suppose that the study on the similarity to other culture in western culture, not in the same Asian culture, has enough interests and values.
There are a number of races and each culture of them on this earth where people live. The scientists and historian’s study to get the answer to the question of where human beings come from and to where they propagate in the beginning continues constantly, but we cannot help getting the deductive conclusion by materials.
The work to study a language, living habit, ritual behavior, dance and music, etc. within a social group is a method to understand their culture well, and its purpose is to find out and admit enough values through the exchange between groups. In this respect, the study on the Native Americans’ culture whose geographical living environment are fairly different from that of Asians, but who has some similar condition to Asians in a physical structure, pattern of blood type, arrangement of teeth structure and so on is very interesting and most of all deserves to have interests in the fact that their culture has much similarity to Korean culture.
Dealing with the Native Americans' culture, you can find from their attitude toward the Nature and the Spirit that they think the earth as their mother and consider the great spirit as their father, and thus they think that human beings are spiritually based on the earth and they consider all universe as an occult body which has the spirit. This thought is not so different from Korean shamanism, and all ritual acts according to that faith including dance and music show that the act by Korean shamanism is so similar to the Native Americans’ ritual acts.
For all that Korean shamanism is the form of traditional entertainment and complex art, has much value with Koreans’ lives, the influx of western culture which becomes scientific causes Korean traditional shamanism to be neglected as a uncivilized faith, or a superstition, or an inferior culture, and thus to put it away from our lives. But Korean shamanism is the expression of the aspiration about the view of nature immanent in human inside based on strong vital power, steadily is continuing. The Native Americans’ culture, their native culture also was restricted, forbidden, and constantly liquidated, but they has protected their native cultural inheritance.
Korean shamanism or the Native Americans’ faith and ceremonies is the attitude toward the life originated from human beings’ humility to the spirit which the greatness of the Nature has, once primitive thing is thought as uncivilized thing, its value is neglected, but nowadays that is again being perceived as the peculiarity of culture and art due to the people’s efforts who try to recover the essence toward human mental area.
The author think that in the efforts to find out the similarity between other cultures, to find out which culture affects which culture is important part, but most of all it is more meaningful to deal with rather philosophical issue about the value which can be the reason why they got to have similar culture.
