The writer inquired into the rites and the education centering around the ceremonies of coming-of-age, marriage, funeral and ancestor-memorial.
The essential particle is following like this; The Korean reception of 「Juza's the customary formalities of a family」 has both affirmation and indefiniteness sides. And the core of rites is not a standard of daily life but embodies a human being. Since we taught 「Yuegee」 in Koguryue's 「Dahak」, principally Korea has trained in the focus of a moral and ethic education. However it changed a ceremony and a manners in according to the alteration of the times and the society, so it is bringing forward the importance of the ceremony education in a home and a school (especially a school) and the enforcement. The ceremonies of coming-of-age, marriage, funeral and ancestor memorial implies the reason and the way to be human behavior and reception. Here includes that the ceremony of coming-of-age is an adult practical education, the ceremony of marriage is a conjugal respect and an impartial education, the ceremonies of funeral and ancestor memorial is a filial piety instruction. It is after all the ceremony and the education are pointed to vitality and humanization.
In the East (especially China), Korea is referred to as the country of courteous people in the East. But what do you think now?
They don't mix without finding our conventional manners culture to agree with civilization of modern society. Because the spirit of the manners is ignored. New model of manners culture propers the situation depends on the device giving life to the genuine spirit of the manners.
For regaining humanity to bury everyday, it is seriously asked the cultivation of manners and morals fitted for the modern society.
And we must enforce educations for this relation.
