In this paper, we analyzed domestic and oversea‘s trend on the reliability of electrical multiple unit(EMU) and also investigated the domestic and international standards on RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability & safety), then proposed the direction of RAMS’ improvement for domestic urban transit vehicle .
In order to assure RAMS of EMU, we proposed to apply IEC 60300 and 62278 to EMU as Reliability Certification.
