This study is focus on the proceeding of attaining love in the Yeum, Sang-seup's novel, 〈Love and Sin〉. There are two type of love in his novel. One is to obtain lover who is mainly woman by overcoming many obstacle in his way. It is the main obstacle that the antagonist tells a lie to hero, so hero is troubled by the lie, and makes researches on whether the lie is true or not. He reaches at the fact that the antagonists' words is a lie, and the couple makes a confidence a love for each other. In this time the plot is reverse the order which is unique in the Yeum, Sang-seup's novel, which the first shows the cause and then readers knows the final after the cause accumulated. But in the case heroes heard the lie who antagonists come from their desire, readers know the lie is not true, but the hero doesn't know it, so he pursuits whether the lie is true or not and the plot is reverse the order, which the first shows the final and then shows that the proceeding what hero knows the fact.
And the other is failing in obtaining lover who is man/woman by their one-side perspective. Especially the protagonist(Ryu, Taek-su) is shown the fetishism which see woman a man who is cut the penis, so he takes the things attached woman for the penis.
Heajujip who is mother of the heroin Ji, Sun-young tells a lie that his daughter is a child who was born by Lee-Excellency who is father of Lee, hea-chun, who is a lover of Ji, Sun-young. So if the words of Heajujip is true, the couple become a relative, which they are close to commit incest. Her past adultery story with Ji, Won-young who is Ji Sunyoung's father is repeated in present among many couples. But Jung-Maria kills Heajujip because she thought that Ji, Sun-young would be caught a trap by her murder and Lee Haechun turned back to her. So the lie that Ji, Sun-young is a child of Lee-Excellency remains a secret but also the fact that her mother Haejujip used to be a concubine isn't revealed for Lee, Hae-chun and Ji, Sun-young.
Finally the couple is made a love by unrevealing the fact of his/her the past secret. Because he/she doesn't know the fatal fact each other, they make a relationship and reach at making a couple. But whenever they are heard that they have a relation which is made by his/her parents, so their relationship is temporary.
