As the focus of the Christian faith is moving steadily away from the North Atlantic area to new centers in the Third World, Postcolonial discourse exposes the inner mechanism of the dominant ideology within theology and demands to go beyond the traditional curriculum of theological studies. In recognizing the ambiguity and ambivalence within the contemporary Post-Christendom Global Christianity, the task of theology is to focus on articulating the dialogical nature of Christianity, in relation to the idea of translation and inculturation that comes from the missiological reflection. It proposes a new approach to Christian theology by bringing the theological articulations from the non-Western world into a contact with the traditional system, recognizing the importance of the dimensions of culture and religious plurality along with the social and political analysis. As we stand at the threshold of the Global Christianity, the implications of the Christian faith demands a depth and range of scholarship that is international, integrative, and cooperative.
