This article is dedicated to culturology in Russia.the process of its formation up to the status of Ph.D dissertations, general information of this area will show not only development of new science, but also a perspective of humanities science.
Basically, three background factors which stimulated formation of culturology should be taken into account.of all, not enough attention was paid to culture in Soviet period for the reason that it was considered a superstructure.Research on superstructure was classified as a bourgeois science, which implied it was a dangerous science.Collapse of Soviet regime opened possibilities to study themes 'prohibited' in the past, including culture.reduction of Marxism on one hand guaranteed a freedom of science in many ways, but on the other created a vacuum in political, social and economic systems as well as science.got to be considered asone of the most reliable candidates for its multidisciplinary programs which turns out to be an effective tool to give deep and wide interpretations of complicated culture in modern society.
Department of culturology has been founded on majority of Russian universities, mostly in philosophical, philological, historical and art faculities.rology, being a required subject in educational process, is part of curriculum from elementary schools to universities.and philosophy of culture, morphology of culture, cultural anthropology, cultural sociology, aesthetics, theory of art, history of world art culture, history of natural and humanities sciences etc. are classified as required subjects in department of culturology.In regard with other faculties like economic faculty and faculties of sociology or law, culturology is linked to their major in capacity of business culture or culturology and administration.of the problems to be solved in culturology is general theory of culture, its essence, structure, mechanism etc.synthesis and application of contents accumulated in the area of humanities science are thought to open new perspective on cultural studies.
Analysis of Ph.D. dissertationswritten in 2002-2003 in Russia shows that culturology overcame ideological obstacles in the past and plays an important role to revive humanities science as a whole.contextuality and interrelationship of cultural objects, culturologists reveal diverse and complicated spectrum of culture and human being, which is the most important task for humanities science.
