In modern times, values are changing fast, Art serves to enlarge objective and rational thinking in diverse filed in a variety of forms, using a variety of media, and is getting more access to the public to meet the requirements of the times for art’s social participation. The popularization of art removes the boundary between art and technology, between artistic merits and ornamentation, between the minority and majority, and between high and low classes.
This situation makes Korean traditional clothes values more than ever.
Korean traditional clothes have paid more attention to external features including ornament and function, compared to the other fields of arts.
This study intends to recognize new possibility of which the beauty of form of Korean traditional clothes can be expressed as an object in the field of formative arts.
The purpose of this study is to discuss the limitations and potentialities of Korean traditional clothes and the concept and characteristics of object in modern arts.
This situation makes Korean traditional clothes values more than ever.
Korean traditional clothes have paid more attention to external features including ornament and function, compared to the other fields of arts.
