Taoism had a great influence upon Korean classical novels. As for the latter, it is hardly necessary to say that there is almost no effort in line of Korean classical novels but has a Taoistic factor in it. The reason why Korean classical novels in Taoism is based on the following. The influence of Taoism involved in Chinese literary and Taoism in the Korean history was not dominant as religion but it was quite religious among the people and this exercised a great influence. This dissertation was concentrated on the synthetic evaluation of Okrumong through a point of view taoistic analysis that is structure, characters, subject matter and the choice of words. The literary worth of Okrumong could be proved in these analysis. However, this is not the dualistic division where the heavens represent romanticism and the earth represents realism. One must not think of the romanticism in Okrumong as simply a fantasy. Okrumong's lyricism is comparable to modern Western romanticism, which consists of the author's detailed portrayal, formation, and atmosphere of the characters. Both romanticism and realism are present in the narrative space of Okrumong, and the tension and interest created by this enabled it to become a full-length narrative, running 64 times.
The name Moon Chang Sung is derived from the god, Moon Chang Jae Goon, who is worshiped in Taoism and has a special gift in literary art. By giving the main character a name derived from the name of a god, the author has naturally given him an extraordinary ability only a heavenly being could possess.
As can be seen from the above, Okrumong continued the history of Novel in the 19th century and at the same time included Sun-Hwa in the narrative structure and character portrayal, and is considered to be a novel that satisfied the masses' taste in this respect.
