In 1960's, the essential question about poetry was lodged for the first time by the poetics of Kim Choon-Soo and that of Kim Soo-Young. Although this event was happened by the help of the over-all vigor of the literary world, but it's also happened by the intrinsic cause of the modern poetry of its own.
'The purity / the engagement' dichotomy which hit this time was not a new phenomena but it has always tended as the logics which induces the inclined thought and judgement. at this situation, Kim Soo-Young and Kim Choon-Soo were considered respectively as a pronoun of the purity / the engagement. Such a recognition is always making cloudy our recognition.
Kim Soo-Young stood against the reality by hugging the wound of history but then Kim Choon-Soo avoided it by being captured by the paranoia like 'history=violence=ideology'. but thereafter walking which is seemingly contrasting is very suggestive in the fact that they show the two ways of ontology of the poet who is placed in the society which is unhappy. Kim Choon-Soo tried to overcome wound of history by criticizing it, and then Kim Soo-Young tried to overcome it by accepting it in his own. But until recently, we looked away from the otherness which was engaged in their poetics.
This essay tried to investigate the effect relationship of the poetics of Kim Soo-Young on that of Kim Choon-Soo. Especially the problem of poetic freedom, it was focused on this essay. By doing this, and considering the functional relation between literature and ideology or politics is the end of this essay.
