Report Errors

Many of Kim Soo-Young’s poems deal with book both directly and indirectly. Commonly a text of book in Kim Soo-Young’s poetry compare to world or are metamorphosis of book or are used as title. In the initial period of his works, Kim Soo-Young regards the book as objects that cannot be understood, since the book in the world of his poetry is what cannot be accessible, what cannot be permitted to open. But the book presented as a symbol of world, it precisely showed Kim Soo-Young’s views to the real world. This article pays attention to the process of Kim Soo-Young"s recognition on book. And how to figurate self-consciousness in poetically. Kim Soo-Young"s change of attitude on book is not different from the process of overcoming Western modernity. Also it bears a striking likeness to his attitude of finding Korean modernity[Korean Literature]. Kim Soo-Young created the new poetic world kept him a distance from the products of Western civilization[book] which was splendidly shining. In fact, a creation of poetry induced by Kim Soo-Young"s thoughts on book is a way of overcoming Western modernity and backward of Korean reality.
