We were taught by new-liberalist there would be no nationalism and nation state in the future. Look the trend of the world and care for the unexpected situation! New-liberalism seeks for the cosmopolitanism and world state. But that will be new principle and we Korean should cope with such system. They argued that our devotions to the nation state are just dream and impossible goal. After the colonial period under the Japanese imperialism, Korea divided north and south. Korean writers and poets managed to live with lots of pressure, so they wanted to express the bad situation and protested against the government and the fascism strongly for decades.
We have two writer, Dan Jae(단재 신채호) and Kim Narnju(김남주) standing the cross section of our nation's unhappy. They lived sharply and severely for the independence and democracy for their mother country. They thought over and over again what would be the duty of writer under the colonial and half-colonial circumstance and made the decision to devote their whole life to the nation. Because of the reason, their novels and poets are so radical and realistic that most other writers never understood. Their only purpose, last aim are people democratic, unified Korea. It is a kind of the absolutism and they believe there is possibility of the unification under authority of the absolutism. We can understand their works absoluteness point of view.
Nowadays, world getting more speed for the one world and one nation, The World State before we, Korean, know it. We should have accomplished the nation state when we passed transition period from feudalism to modem democratic society. As all knew, Korean failed it. In that case, absolutism for the nation could be the utmost worth. There are writers and poets regarding absolutism for the nation as their work's notion and thought. At last we can understand Dan Jae(단재 신채호) and Kim Namju(김남주).
