This study with focus on becoming frequent diplomatic relation during the late B.C. 480 between King Changsu reign of Koguryo and Bei Wei, and getting out tram the readily discussed frame based on the turning point in B.C. 462, has reviewed the trends of the relation between the both countries by defining three categories along the changes in the situation of the East Asia.
The diplomatic retation between Kongnryo and Bei Wei was initiated in B.C. 425, and in B.C. 435 Koguryo, which was then maintained a feudality relationship with Bei Wei, exchanges information with Bei Wei on Bei Van (북연), and at last in B.C. 436 Koguryo mrched to attack Bei Van by deep intervention of military force.
In the meantime the 23 - year estranged diplomatic relation between Koguryo and Bei Wei was restored in B.C. 462, and the cause of such a diplomatic restoration can be enumerated, among all others, of Paekje's policy against Koguryo during middle of B.C. 450. It is a well- known fact that Paekje allied with Shilla(신라) as a diversionary measure against Koguryo, however, in this connection it ca be assumable the possibility of the intentional manipulation of Paelge upon Shilla to become tree from Koguryo.
The diplomacy against Song(송) post B.C. 450 countries that is to say the deliberated posture of Koguryo in attempting renewal of relation with Bei Wei can be assumed to be rooted to the hard-driving policy against Koguryo proceeded during the reign of King Guero(개로). From that view point, the aggressive attack of Koguryo on Hansung(한성) occurred during B.C. 475 was not a mere form of conquering, but was a military action of counter - attacking Paekje against policy of Koguryo constant even after the break-off of the diplomatic relation with Bei Wei.
Furthermore, after B.C. 484, the fact that the frequent maintenance of diplomatic relations between Koguryo and Bei Wei was bakegrounded was closely related to the positive policy af King Dangsung against Koguryo, and the articles of the invasion of Weilu(위로)'s captives into Paekje referred to in NanQi - shu(남제서) and Zizhi - Tongzian(자치통감) is assumed fact that Koguryo with support of military farce of Bei Wei attacked on the main land of Paokje. Thus, the political palicy of Koguryo against Bei Wei was deeply related to the changes in the situation of East Asia, especially to the trends of Paekje. It is therefore presumable that the defeat of Koguryo- Bei Wei allied force during the end of 5th century had brought up a change in the international order of East Asia.
