This paper is aim to understand the continuance forms of the group(mass)'s force in the postwar society and the confrontation of the person, by analyzing the 「The living(생활적)」 of the Son, Chang-sub. The results are following.
First, this novel have three forces. The one is force of the systematic and exclusive second-group in the prisoner concentration camp. This force is progressing, and the original form of the variety forces in the postwar society. The other is the well-mass's force. On being contaminated the well, the well-mass was changed to the group. They regard the Dong-Ju failed the drawing water as criminal, behave violently him. Another force's subject is Bong-Su and Chun-Ja. They disjoint Dong-Ju and Chun-Ja, Bong-Su and Sun-i, and reorganize to the Dong-Ju and Sun-i, Bong-Su and Chan-Ja. Bong-Su and Chan-Ja prove their group consciousness, by borrowing the well-mass's language and way, making Dong-Su and Sun-i as a outsider. Thess three forces is common to draw up dichotomy. But three forces become different the group's force→the mass's force→individualized mass. It means the organization, the aim, the enormous→the unbusiness, the broken piece, the spontaneity, the everyday experience.
Second, the individual's reaction against the group's forse is an endurance and extinction. And Dong-Ju understands the group's logic spontaneously. In addition, Dong-Ju internalizes the force subject's will. Dong-Ju expriences self-extinction, become the person deprived of the self-identity.
Third, this novel attempts the resistances. The ways of the resistances are two. the one is the forces subjects' self-satire. The well-mass do not know the fact that the mountain whole is polluted, will punish the Dong-Ju for suspicion of pollution. Also, regardless of the water pollution, Bong-Su and Chun-Ja are proud of the mountain water. It is a self-satire to disclose their foolish by oneself. The other way against force subject is the individual's identity restoration, and confirmation. But, the individual's identity restoration have a boundary. Because identity restoration needs a self-extinction, and the process to acquiring the loving for humanity is the superficil and the leap.
