The purpose of this study is to validate the Korean Quest Scale. The Quest is defined as the degree of "an open-ended, responsive dialogue with existential questions raised by the contradictions and tragedies of life." The 12 items of Quest scale are translated into Korean. Through pilot study, the final set with revision is performed to 221 college students attending Christian colleges and Universities in Korea. Arithmetic means and standard deviations are not skewed senously, however, items whose item-total correlations are less than .30 are excluded. Their item numbers are item 1, 4, 7, and 11. Exploratory factor analysis is conducted with the rest of 8 items and results in unidimension. As an item response theory, graded response model is applied to obtain item discrimination and item difficulty indices. The result shows that item discrimination and difficulty indices are acceptable. The Cronbach a coefficient as a reliability measure is high enough, .8401. Their convergent and discriminant validity are proved as well. The correlation coefficients between the Quest and Spiritual Well-Being Scale, Religious Well-Being Scale, Spiritual Maturity Index, Faith Maturity Scale, and Spiritual Experience Index are .486, .575, .659, .604, and .662, respectically. However, the correlation coefficient between the Quest and the Existential Well-Being Scale turns out to be .177. The Quest is related to spiritual matury or well-being, however, is not related to the existiential well-being which is not part of religious construct. The mean differences of the Quest with 8 items are examined by students' faith level applying One-way ANOVA. There are significant differences between christian and non christian students, however, not significant between two christian groups with no ceiling effects. In summary the Quest scale with 8 items is psychomehically good enough. However, there is limitation to discriminate students' faith level for the spiritually mature. In future, it is expected to develop a religious scale considering the culture of Korean colleges depending on students' faith level.
