I tried to examine the poems of Lee, Sung-Sun who is well known as natural poet from side of Buddhist imagination. After all, I confirmed the significant meaning of natural images that appears frequently with poetic subject matter built on Buddhism speculation. The connected images mentioned in his prefatorial poem- insect, sky, burning fire, universe, silence, butterfly, etc.- connote the poet's poetic inclination and its meaning intensively. His poetic course was deep through at once crawls on the ground and flies high of the air as one insect. Finally it was that things; destroys oneself, completed one butterfly, so goes up to sky, has the
universe, m waits the moments of emancipation how he crouches in solitary cell with mind that has the universe. That is to say, it was
course of Buddhism composition that escapes from life as the insect of ground so delivers with the butterfly. If the poet as a disciplinant becomes the butterfly and has the Universe, he should destroys himself and even attachment and avarice of inside that. Like this matter is possible with Buddhism speculation and reflection through painful practice. Concept of like this Buddhist deliverance is becoming the base which governs the imagination of the The fact- the poet Lee, Sung-Sun put to use nature with companion conversation and subject matter of poem, and even he shared his life with nature- is clear, But pursuing through this is attempt to open the universe, hereby he makes an effort to find his meaning of existence. We are confirmed the facts- natural life and creative poem work acquires the self identity from the universe for becomes one united body with nature, and takes spirit motive to reach the ultimate world of freedom in its background.
