Modem socialist literature of Korea has not been studied enough yet. Regional tradition, also, needs to be examined closely. This writing is aimed to clarify the trend of socialist poetry in Kyungnam and to figure out its distinctiveness.
The distinctiveness of socialist poetry in Kyungnam is as following. First, most of the poets are admitted into the literary system by spontaneous and gradual studies. Second, it has a distinctive tradition of the systematic activity and periodical publication. Especially, it contributed great success to children's literature. Third, it has a general trend of the multi-creative writing based on various parts as well as poetry.
There would be a stepping-stone to find the spiritual and cultural history of Kyungnam, which is made by the long period from the mid of 1920s to 1950 right before Korean War and by enthusiasms and efforts for the national liberation and human freedom of the socialist poets in Kyungnam, who are Joo-hong Lee, Hwan Kweon, Seok-jeong Park, Go-song Shin, Seong-hong Lee, Wo-jeong Yang, Seong-bong Kim, Fling-san Son, Byeong-ho Kim, San-woon Park, and Sang-hun Kim.
