This study has tried to comprehend as the result of narcissism the poetic imagination of Jeong Hyun- Jong who has been often captured in abysses of ecstatic and mystic fascinations, and to illuminate the personality and meaning of the self-positivity directed to Dreams of Things which is his first collection of poems, by the analysis of "Solo Dance" which is to be an origin of his poetry.
The principle of narcissism is to extend and deepen the selfsameness by the conciliation between itself and what is the alien, or to maintain the self-sameness by the defence and exclusion from the absurd otherness. In his poetry this principle of narcissism has gotten intertwined in organic relationships one anther. It is drawn mainly tow factors with which one is a ruinous outer reality and the other is the death faced on a human being in the existential, that obstructs the self-dignity of Jeong Hyun- Jong as a narcissist. He firstly has defended or excluded absurd outer factors from his inner consciousness, detaching and separating a positive world from that factors. And, he has preferred to make the inner absurdity into the energies of life with the principle of conciliation rather than of exclusion in terms of the innate way of life of a human being such as 'the dying'.
When the principle of exclusion and conciliation is to be the actives of imagination which has maintained the self against the other who has threatened the self-sameness, his poetly based on this primary principle is to go ahead once more to realize aquantitative extension of the self-sameness. The extension of the self-sameness is realized in the objectification of the self, or in the unification between a subject and a separated thing or between an objective and an objective. Its articulated way is to acquire an university of that way in projecting repeatedly a tendency to self-devotion of narcissism on the individuals of things in common. This making a self-distance by the objectification becomes a foundation of the self-appreciation or self-justice, and is to be a presupposition to make possible the unification between a being and a being. On the other hand, the unification between a thing and a thing, between the objective and the subject, is realized in a destruction of the boundary between 'the r and 'thou', or in an erotic concord. The erotic concord converts the alienation and lack of a being into the self-satisfying world, leading an transient individual to his continuity. His self-satisfying narcissistic world is not only an aesthetic transcendent over the absurd situations but also an existential in a point that it has been maintaining the free will of a romantic subject departed from the nothingness.
This narcissistic imagination of Jeong Hyun- Jong is to be an longing for devoting himself to the state of the absolute purity of an existent one overcoming the absurdity of life and the self-schism. This longing ultimately has a very important meaning in terms of the will to retrieve not the self-negative, but the self-positive or the self-dignity. This is to be a method how he has recaptured the human being, who is able to become infinitely humble as a "being-in-the-world", from there. Finally, the maximum value of his poetry is in the fact that he has maintained firmly the dignity and nobility of the human being to the end as though Nietzsche had broken through the tragedy and had reached the self-positive.
