1. This thesis is written to study ecological meaning on novels by Hwang Soon-won.
2. First of all we should attention to his novels founded on significance of life. The theme of these novels is sympathy to something little and tender. <The dog in the village named moknomi> represent these novels. The dog, that is with young, is wanderer that is on the verge of starve to death. But it cannot only be served out by anyone, but also is drived out from the village. But it propagate and the three puppies are permitted to live in the village.
3. We should attention to his novels founded on culture to opposite to nature. <The picture of the wolves> represent these novels. A Japanese arm
with pistol fight to the wolves on purpose but he meet with atragic end. The Japanese and the wolves are the symbol of culture and nature respectively. The Japanese is the symbol of a man to opposite to nature. This novel is criticism to nature.

<A tree and a stone and> represent these novels. A professor has failed in futility but picnic to Yong-moon temple with his student unwillingly. But he see the great ginkgo tree and wake up to the meaning of nature that nature is nature. The great ginkgo tree is the symbol of nature in this novel.
