An airport-subway electric cart service is currently being operated at G Airport for the transportation disadvantaged. In 2023, it was only available via phone and information desk, but in 2024, a universal design kiosk was installed to improve accessibility. This study aimed to verify whether the universal design kiosk actually contributed to the use of the airport-subway electric cart for the transportation disadvantaged. Accordingly, the number of reservations and usage in 2023, before the installation of the kiosk, and the number of reservations and usage in 2024 were compared, and the types that affected the service usage in 2024 were analyzed. The results of the analysis showed that, first, the installation of the universal design kiosk increased the number of reservations from the transportation disadvantaged. Second, the installation of the kiosk did not increase the usage. Third, the type of travelers with children had the greatest effect on the use of the airport-subway electric cart, and pregnant women had the smallest effect. Since the installation of universal design kiosks has been shown to improve accessibility to service use, it seems that the same effect can be expected if universal design kiosks are installed in other services for the transportation disadvantaged. In addition, it is suggested that electric cart facilities should be improved for travelers with young children, who have the greatest influence on the use of electric carts in airport-subway stations.
