Chinese is a language with developed complements. Due to the inconsistency in sentence elements, Korean learners who learn Chinese as a second language have difficulty acquiring grammatical knowledge of Chinese complements, and due to a lack of understanding of the grammatical function of complements, they end up using many ungrammatical sentences and erroneous expressions.
In this article, I will analyze the types of errors Korean learners make in Chinese directional complements by categorizing them into four types: ‘component non-use errors’, ‘component addition errors’, ‘verb mixing errors’, and ‘word order errors’, and I will also analyze the reasons for the errors.
Mistakes that occur when we learn a foreign language are simple mistakes and temporary phenomena, but errors are regular mistakes that occur due to differences between the native language and the foreign language. Learners of foreign languages cannot help but be influenced by their native language, but they must constantly make efforts to overcome this. Beyond the innate difficulties, efforts to overcome errors and environmental settings are necessary. In addition, the internal structure and pattern analysis of sentences where errors occur must be repeatedly learned. This is where specific error analysis like this article can contribute.
