Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) has been driving innovation across various fields, including text generation, image creation, and music composition, while significantly transforming industries and society. In South Korea, the rapid adoption and application of generative AI technologies have drawn considerable academic attention; however, existing studies are largely focused on specific domains or technical aspects. This study aims to systematically analyze the key topics and research trends in generative AI studies conducted in South Korea. Using a combination of keyword network analysis and BERTopic modeling, this study examined 861 domestic research papers. The results highlight that research on generative AI is centered around core keywords such as
Generative AI, ChatGPT, Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), and Large Language Models (LLM). Additionally, 22 major topics were identified, grouped into four distinct clusters: legal and social impacts, artistic and design creation, educational and learning support, and literary and writing applications. This study provides valuable insights for researchers to identify new research opportunities and contributes to expanding the societal and industrial applications of generative AI.
