Modern society has achieved remarkable advancements in social, economic, political, and cultural spheres. However, amid these developments, modern individuals experience severe psychological fatigue and social dissatisfaction. Zhuangzi, who lived during the turbulent Warring States period, also navigated a life within a chaotic social environment, yet he pursued a life of freedom and wholeness despite the turmoil. Zhuangzi's philosophy does not advocate for a mere escape from chaotic reality but rather aims to seek true spiritual freedom within secular life, unbound by artificial constraints. To achieve this spiritual freedom, Zhuangzi proposed practices such as "Xinzhai" (mental fasting) and "Zuowang" (sitting in forgetfulness), which enable the mind to liberate itself from external influences. Through these practices, Zhuangzi believed one could attain the Dao of unity between self and nature (Wuwei Ziran) and ultimately reach the state of "Zhimizhile" (supreme beauty and joy) and "Tianle" (heavenly joy). He asserted that by reaching this state, one could attain the highest levels of pleasure, freedom, and beauty. Zhuangzi's philosophy significantly influences contemporary architectural spaces, particularly in explaining architectural techniques such as superposition, borrowed scenery, and juxtaposition through the concept of relational boundarylessness, where the boundaries between time, space, and users become ambiguous. Modern architectural spaces that reflect these characteristics possess aesthetic qualities that encompass both tradition and modernity, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of these elements. Analyzing contemporary architectural spaces through the lens of Zhuangzi's thought offers a new perspective that transcends metaphysical interpretations of various architectural structures in the current era, providing a deeper understanding of the aesthetic characteristics of space
