As the new media technology is developed, the characteristics of the double logic of remediation become more clearly revealed: reaching in reality by achiev- ing immediacy or arriving at reality by multiplexing on media. This study discuss- es the remediation process of new media dance based on 'Remediation Theory' by Bolter, J. D. and Grusin, R. A., followed by the discussion of audience experience on dance by using virtual reality and augmented reality according to the double logic. As a result, audience experience on dance which uses virtual reality can be explained in these ways: 1) accepting opaque and heterogeneous media in parallel with appreciating unmediated transparent reality, 2) performing remediation for interaction, 3) finalizing the results of remediation. The audience experience by using augmented reality technology means the followings : 1) accepting multiple symbols and heterogeneous media complexly, then appreciating them subjectively through repeated redefinition, 2) performing the process of remediation by multiple manipulation, 3) immersion to performance by unmediated reality, 4) reproducing creatively the outcomes of remediation by itself. The desire on reality from the double logic of remediation is further satis- fied with the development of new media technology. Thus, audience experience is extended to appreciation·acceptance·evaluation·interpretation·experience·perf- ormance·construction from conventional ways of appreciation·evaluation·interp- retation, and expands a role of audience to appreciator·performer·constructor·cre- ator and producer.
