Dr Park, a trailblazer in the fields of molecular biology and genetic engineering, passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 87. He spearheaded research and education in Korean molecular biology and genetic engineering and played a pivotal role in founding related societies and academic journals, thus significantly contributing to the globalization of Korean bioscience and establishing himself as a pioneering molecular biologist.
