This study presents a practical case of Japanese/Japanese culture courses for Grades 1 and 2 of high schools in the Daejeon region as a part of the “High school-college connected one-class student course in preparation for the credit system” supervised by the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education in 2023 and analyzes its effects.
The analysis revealed that the satisfaction and completion rates of the students who participated in the courses were overall high. By getting the opportunity to learn and experience Japanese culture through the high school-college connected program, students were able to improve their Japanese proficiency, broaden their understanding of Japanese culture, and develop an attitude of respect for other cultures.
This program played a crucial role in helping students understand other cultures from an objective viewpoint, develop an international perspective on global society and their aptitudes, and set up their career direction. In addition, the high school-college connected program increased the social contribution of the college and strengthened the positive image of the department.
