This paper introduces a novel voice communication system designed for autonomous ships, aimed at improving safe navigation through enhanced voice command recognition and processing. Central to this system are several key components: a Large Language Model (LLM) trained on Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP), a noise processing system utilizing High-Low pass filters, a speaker diarization system leveraging speech activity and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC), and the Whisper STT model for speech-to-text translation. The system is specifically tailored to address the challenges of ship-to-ship communication, where multiple operators often share a single channel, leading to potential misunderstandings in autonomous ship operations. Our approach focuses on accurately processing and translating maritime voice data, with an emphasis on noise reduction and speaker differentiation. The system's efficiency is evaluated using approximately three minutes of Korean voice data. The results indicate a marked improvement in execution time, with a response time of 33.253273 seconds, a Word Error Rate (WER) of 0.037415, and a Character Error Rate (CER) of 0.014784, showcasing superior performance compared to other models. This system demonstrates significant potential in enhancing the safety and efficiency of maritime operations involving autonomous ships.
