Over the past decade, the sharing economy has significantly developed, driven by technological advancements that facilitate direct connections between consumers and service providers. Uber and Airbnb are prime examples of this shift, linking drivers with passengers and homeowners with travelers through their respective digital platforms. This transformation has turned personal vehicles and homes into revenue-generating assets, offering flexible and economical alternatives to traditional services. This paper reviews the current state of the sharing economy, explores the unique strategies and business models of Uber and Airbnb, and analyzes their commonalities and differences. It examines the regulatory challenges and market trends these platforms face and discusses their potential future directions. By applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study investigates how users perceive the usefulness, ease of use, attitudes, and intentions to use these platforms, impacting their adoption. Based on grounded theory, this case study identifies several critical factors for the success of sharing economy business models through coding. These factors include establishing and maintaining trust through robust review systems and reliable services, regulatory compliance, technological innovation, and service expansion. The sustainable growth of the sharing economy depends on how effectively these platforms manage these elements. This study offers both academic and practical implications.
