Stabilizer bar links are one of the important components of vehicle’s suspension system. It controls the torsion of the body during driving and is used with ball joint which is designed precisely for this purpose. Generally, one side of stabilizer bar link is connected to stabilizer bar and the other side is connected to strut, knuckle, control arm, to connect the stabilizer bar and the left and right wheels to control the shaking of vehicle. Recently, international environmental and fuel efficiency regulations have been strengthened, and in general, fuel and electricity efficiency improvement can be expected when lightweight parts are applied to vehicles. Currently, stabilizer bar links on the market are using materials such as steel, plastic(injection), and aluminum. Aluminum is advantageous in terms of weight and can secure a certain level of strength, but the stabilizer bar link made of aluminum on the market consists of methods such ad forging and die casting in which ball joint and rod parts are integrated, and it is cumbersome to manufacture a mold by specification to adjust the axial distance or fastening angle of the stabilizer bar link. Existing stabilizer bar links made of aluminum, which have lightweight effect, are limited in responding to requirements and are disadvantageous in terms of common use of the sub-parts. This paper develops a stabilizer bar link by swaging aluminum socket and rod that can respond flexibly to requirements at the same time as lightweight effects and improve part commonization rates.
