The purpose of this study was to provide useful information to local government and professional sports clubs by seeking policy plans for the activation of regional tourism. Twenty experts were invited to participate in the Delphi process. After three-round Delphi, fifteen factors for local government and professional sports club sectors were derived to promote regional tourism. For local government sector, the following factors were derived: 1) Connecting with other tourist attractions in the region, 2) Improving sports tourism infrastructure, 3) Creating an attraction for sports tourism, 4) Improving the physical environment of the home stadium, 5) Building a stadium for each event, 6) Connecting with local food, and 7) Cultivating human resources related to sports tourism in cooperation with local universities. For professional sports club sector, the following factors were derived: 1) Improving the image of the region by fostering prestigious clubs, 2) Development of tourism products using star players, 3) Developing South Korea’s unique cheering culture, 4) Strengthening strategies to attract Asian sports tourists, 5) launch a package tour, 6) Development of tourism products using the home stadium, 7) strengthening the promotion of the club using foreign players, and 8) improving the kindness of volunteers. Therefore, local governments and clubs should not overlook the importance of the fifteen factors proposed above for regional tourism development.
