The purpose of this study aims to look back on cultural value of the Taereung International Shooting Range and on whether it is really desirable only to see extinction of the Shooting Range, the ignition point of 1988 Seoul Olympic and the first single event stadium in Asia. The Cultural Heritage Administration is under demolition of the Taereung International Shooting Range and the Taereung National Training Center for the purpose of restoration of royal tombs. Namely, with respect to the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty in Taereung and the modern cultural heritage of the Taereung National Training Center plus the Taereung International Shooting Range as the ignition point of Seoul Olympic, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Seoul government have different interpretations and conflicting policies. Conclusion from above study is as follows; First, as the mecca of shooting range, the Taereung International Shooting Range played a key role as elite sports as well as national sports and had a great influence on enlargement of base. Second, chairman Park Jong-Gyu with large political power laid groundwork of Korea shooting, enlarged base population, built shooting ranges in the country, founded various sports events at home and abroad and therefore, he contributed to national sports development. Third, ancillary facilities of the Taereung International Shooting Range were used as leisure culture and rest space for citizens, and became citizens'' sports facilities due to revitalization of sports clubs. However, due to quantitative expansion of guns, indiscriminate control and restrictions on guns for hunting and guns for sports (training) also became limit to development of shooting. Fourth, it is necessary to recognize both importance of being designated as world cultural heritage through restoration of royal tombs and importance of modern sports culture of 45 years old Taereung International Shooting Range and then, to induce internal and external social implications.
