With rapid modernization, the trend is constantly changing, and the traditional market, which is causing many problems in Korea, is expanding its presence in large retailers and markets as a result of the formation of the distribution market, diversifying products and reducing the number of people visiting the traditional market due to the development of service awareness. In addition, as consumers’ tastes and consumption habits change due to intergenerational companionship, the younger generation prefers fresh and creative products and experiences, and is not interested in the traditional product composition or environment of the traditional market. In order to revitalize the traditional market, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will form a youth mall in the traditional market. Through theoretical exploration, it identifies problems as the starting point of the formation of the youth mall in the traditional market, derives the necessary space, and promotes exchanges between various generations for people who visit the traditional market. Through preliminary research and analysis of related case studies, it can help find directions by enhancing the psychological and visual aspects of wayfinding that users feel (space identification, space cognition, visibility, readability). It is not just a way to revitalize the local community, but we hope for active and continuous research on the plan for a sustainable youth mall through the influx of young people’s start-ups and exchanges. In the modern era, we hope to transform the identity of a competitive traditional market.
