In recent years, amphibious robots have become one of the research hotspots and have great research value because of their unique advantages of strong environmental adaptability and broad application prospects. This paper was conducted as a basic research to develop an amphibious robot. Experiments were conducted using toys to develop wheel types that can be driven in various environments. Specifically, merits and drawbacks of some selected representative robots are outlined. The evaluation index was selected to evaluate while ignoring the effects of other toy specifications. In addition, a test bed was established and the selected evaluation index was evaluated and verified.
