This paper reconstitutes the process of writer Shen Congwen becoming to university teacher, from the late 1920s to the early 1930s, and examines the contents and meaning of his lecturing experiences. Additionally, not only the Shen Congwen himself, it also includes the internal appointment system of the Chinese department, which was an objective condition during his period, and the systematizing procedure of his lectures about the New Literature. Shen Congwen was an individual who positioned at the blind gap where both the new and old education systems could not be reached at the time; after the publication of his literary works, it’d been established personal relationships inside the literary world. By the one of the relationships, which made with “XianDai PingLun”, let him entered to the university organization. However, it was merely unclear about his ability in researching and lecturing as a scholar in Chinese literature, eventually it negatively affected the determination of his status and treatment as a university faculty at the beginning. The fundamental supports of Hu Shi and Yang Zhensheng, who were directly involved in his appointment in the first place, make it possible for him to continue his teaching career. Eventually, he was able to concentrate and open the classes: “History of Chinese Fiction”, “Study of New Literature”, and “The Literary Creation”. It was significant, not only the class itself, that his devoted publication of lecture notes and textbooks were also applied to systemize the curriculum; consequently, he had organized and disseminated New Literature into the Academic system by his most common and effective ways.
