Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the characteristics of the soccer culture formed by female middle school students through their participation in the school sports club’s soccer activities and their experiences as leaders in teaching.
Method: The research method employed auto-ethnography techniques. In the role of a self-cultural engineer, the researcher provides reflective descriptions of the educational characteristics encountered during their leadership and the associated relationships. Data collection involved in-depth interviews, informal intellectual interviews, long-term participatory observations, and memory data. The study encompassed 15 research participants, including the researcher.
Results: The contents experienced as a first-time teacher were classiiefd by period in the composition of reflective techniques, which consisted of auto-ethnography. The first topic is ‘different from male students’, and ‘pureness’ and ‘lack of athletic ability and physical strength’ as sub-themes. The second topic is ‘change the atmosphere’. Sub-themes are ‘Giving Confidence’, ‘Building a Team’, ‘Surprised by Passion’, and ‘Changed Students and me’. The third topic is ‘she is the first soccer culture’. The sub-themes are “I can’t wait for the morning soccer,” “The soccer player is cool,” “I’m enjoying the dinner,” “My grades have improved,” “I can watch the soccer game,” “My stress is flying away,” and “I feel proud.”
Conclusion: In summary, the sports club activities for middle school girls’ soccer played a significant role in shaping their their own meaningful school sports culture. However, in order to realize the valuable educational benefits that soccer can bring to the field, parents’ biased perceptions of education must be changed. This chage should be accompanied by institutional support that can enhance leaders’ capabilities and ensure students’ voluntary participation.
