The purpose of the study is to examine the trends in Korean language-related research in six Southeast Asian countries, namely Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The researcher used topic modeling techniques to compare and analyze the trends in Korean language-related research in these countries. The researcher compared the increase in research over time and found that while research was minimal in the 1990s, active research began in the 2000s, with Vietnam being the most researched country among the six. In the 2010s, each countries began to study in earnest, and research greatly increased in the late 2010s. The Philippines had an increase in research in the early 2000s, but its research output declined recently. However, Indonesia and Myanmar have recently shown a sharp increase in Korean language-related research. Furthermore, the researchers analyzed the main keywords of research topics using topic modeling and found that countries with a high proportion of marriage immigrants, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Cambodia, had high-frequency vocabulary keywords such as "multicultural," "women," "marriage immigrants," "children," and "society." On the other hand, countries with a low proportion of marriage immigrants, such as Indonesia and Myanmar, had more linguistic research topics. Finally, the researchers found that Vietnam has a wide range of research topics compared to other countries, and its research output is varied and abundant.
