In this work, I investigated at the uses of case markers in Northern Tungusic languages, where spatial case markers are much more differentiated, in order to clarify the functions of several Hezhen case markers that were thought to be somewhat confused. Despite the case systems of Northern Tungusic languages seemed to be rather similar with one another, I researched the possibility of functional discrepancies when semantic features were introduced to the internal structure. It was shown that paying closer attention to the internal semantic features of the Ground or Path, which are often dealt with in determining the location and relationship of space, can be a key indicator in differentiating each case marker. The distinction in semantic features conveyed by each case marker may also account for the fact that while it can be viewed as the same case in many languages, it may have different restrictions depending on the language in question. The possibility that the Figure also plays a crucial part in the understanding of the event in Northeast Asian languages was also discussed.
